Results From LMMS PTSA's Environmental Committee's
First Annual Scarecrow Competition
LMMS PTSA had a goal of focusing on grounds beautification this year, since the completion of construction on our building and new entrance. However, this idea had to be revisited as the drought continued to worsen and become a pressing issue for all of North Georgia. Our talented Environmental Committee came up with an idea to implement a Scarecrow Competition. This event could help beautify our school for fall and was environmentally friendly given our circumstances of needing to conserve water at this time. On October 23rd we held the First Annual Scarecrow Competition and even though Mother Nature decided to send the much needed rain our way that day, the competition moved indoors and went on as planned. Our Hospitaility Committee jumped in to provide refreshments for the participants, and had so many goodies they were able to share them with all of the Band/Chorus & Orchestra Fundraiser Volunteers who were there in the rain distributing cheesecakes and other goodies!
